He also served on many other professional boards including the Los Angeles County Peace Officers Association and the California Chief Probation Officers Association. He received his bachelor’s Degree, in Police Administration, from California State University, Los Angeles, a master’s degree in Public Administration, from the University of Southern California, and a master’s degree in Management, from California State University, Pomona. He was a college associate professor and has instructed internationally on law enforcement issues.

A few were natural deaths, but most were homicides. Some were especially brutal. He also oversaw homicide investigations during his other police assignments.
