Twelve-year-old Marion Parker was abducted from her school.
The kidnapping of Marion was headline news. The entire city was on edge. Parents were concerned about their children being kidnapped while at school or when travelling to or from school. When news of her murder was made public, the panic grew more intense. There was concern about a monster being on the loose who preyed upon innocent children. This was a particularly heinous and brutal murder.
This story is true, although some of the names have been changed and dialogue has been added or modified. The crime and the background of those involved are reconstructed leading to the background, capture, conviction and execution of the kidnapper. This is mesmerizing and suspenseful account of a heinous crime which transcends the moment and yields to the nature of America’s criminal violence. The story offers some insight into the mind of a criminal while offering empathy for all victims of crime.
